Choosing the Right Provider

Five Essential Questions
Before you select a provider or a plan, make sure you ask these five important questions.

1. Does the offer have a monthly fee?

Some electricity suppliers tout a low price per kilowatt-hour, but also charge a separate monthly fee of $5 or more. Instead of paying less than your current bill for electricity supply (which is one part of your electric bill), you could actually end up paying more. At Talen Energy we don’t charge a monthly fee for electricity service. We quote a price that is the same regardless of how much electricity you use.

2. Is there a cancellation fee?

Cancellation fees vary by supplier and product. Our Business Price Protection Plan does have a fee if you cancel before the end of your term.

3. Is there a customer service department? If so, where?

Some suppliers outsource their customer service to other companies in a faraway state. When you email us or call Customer Care toll-free at 888-289-7693, you can talk to a customer care representative located in Pennsylvania.

4. Does the supplier have much experience in the energy business?

Some electricity suppliers don’t have much by the way of experience. At Talen Energy, we have over 90 years of experience and expertise throughout the energy business.

We own and operate electric generation plants, so we understand more about the energy business than a company who only sells it.

5. Is the supplier part of the community?

Some suppliers are based several states away, or part of a company based in a different country. Talen Energy is based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. We are the official electricity supplier of the Philadelphia Union and Talen Energy Stadium. Choosing Talen Energy means you’ll receive a competitive price for electricity supply from a strong, stable energy company located right here in Pennsylvania.
