H.A. Wagner Battery Demonstration Project

Our first battery storage project (in partnership with Key Capture Energy) will be located at our H.A. Wagner facility near Baltimore, Maryland. The project will begin as a 20 MW demonstration project with the opportunity to fully replace a recently retired coal-fired unit, providing grid stability and resiliency in a lower carbon fashion.  The project is currently in the development phase and is expected to be commercially available in 2024.

The development at Wagner has clear advantages due to existing injection rights and the ability to expand physically and electrically, something we believe can be replicated as we think about additional opportunities across our fleet.
