Anthony “Tony” Plagens was appointed Talen Energy’s vice president and controller in April 2019. In this role, he leads the company’s accounting function and is responsible for all external financial reporting. Prior to his current position, he served as managing director and corporate controller for Talen.
Mr. Plagens has more than 15 years of accounting experience with energy companies, large and small, in a variety of geographies throughout the U.S., U.K. and China. Prior to joining Talen in September 2017, he worked for Mercuria Energy Trading, Inc. as controller, North America. He also served in various accounting management capacities at American Energy Partners, ConocoPhillips, BP, and Ernst & Young.
A graduate of Albion College in Albion, Michigan, Mr. Plagens holds a B.A. in Economics and Management. He is a member of the Carl A. Gerstacker Institute for Professional Management and a Certified Public Accountant, registered in the state of Michigan.
